Kerry O'Keefe - Conference Dinner Speaker

The Conference Committee has a real treat in store for members attending the 2005 Conference Dinner. All cricket fans will recognise the name Kerry O'Keefe but this interesting and dynamic speaker will entertain everyone who attends. Kerry O'Keefe, the wrist spinner from the Australian cricket team of the legendary Chappell era played in 24 test matches and is now a member of the ABC commentary team. Dont miss this opportunity to hear a great speaker with wit, wisdom and a penchant for sport.

2005 Conference Program

Grassland Society of NSW - 2005 Conference
Orange, 19-21 July

Despite a challenging climate, livestock producers remain optimistic for the future and look to improve production systems while maintaining a healthy outlook and understanding of their business. "Grass Roots & All" examines these concepts through the course of the conference.
The Grasslands Committee hopes you can join us on 19–21 July.

The program includes a fantastic line-up of information sessions and bus tours. The Registration Form will be available in the next few weeks so check back on the blog and/or the main website to see more on this.

BUS TOURS:

DAY 1 Pre-Conference Bus Tour: For the early birds day one provides an opportunity to see some local attractions before the serious business begins. In the afternoon, you will get the opportunity to a) tour Newcrest Mining’s Cadia Valley gold and copper mine and b) visit local vineyards and taste some of the fine wines produced in the local region.
DAY 2 Pre-Conference Bus Tour: Choice of 2 bus tours - one featuring Central Slopes mixed farming systems, and another two focusing on grazing systems.

BUS TOUR Option 1 - Central Slopes mixed farming systems visiting "Frisby Park" Cudal (Pastures and cropping operation), "Bonsmara" Cudal (Boer goats) and "Daylesford" Cudal (Olives).

BUS TOUR Option 2 - Central Slopes grazing Systems visiting "Kangaroobie/Tantallon" Orange (commercial cattle property), "Stirling" Belgravia (soil, pastures and fine wool production) and "Nandillyan Ponds Orange (Durham Research Facility for Shorthorn cattle).

BUS TOUR Option 3 - Tablelands grazing systems visiting "Oatleigh" Millthorpe (Tablelands pastures operation), "Fernside" Barry (winter wheats and their fit in a grazing operation) and
"Salisbury" Blayney (commercial deer farm – velvet and venison).
