Supplementary Feeding Field Days

The Northern Branch of the Grassland Society of NSW will be holding field days this week at Guyra and Deepwater.

Supplementary Feeding.
Path to Profit or Pain in the Pocket?
Tuesday April 26th at Guyra "Bald Blair", 1:30 - 4:30 pm
Wednesday April 27th at Deepwater "Giru", 9:00 am - 12 noon

Speakers include Dr Lewis Kahn (AIMS & UNE, Armidale), Ian Blackwood (NSW DPI), Michael Lollback (NSW DPI), Sam White ("Bald Blair") and panel of Deepwater/Emmaville graziers. The field days will be chaired by Alastair Rayner (NSW DPI, Glen Innes).

As the season has turned very dry, many producers will be starting to weigh their feeding options for the coming winter. These field days have been designed to help you make those decisions. Also see more information on supplementary feeding in the Northern Branch April newsletter - this has been mailed out and will be posted on the main website next week.

Cost is $5 for Society members and $7 for non-members - light refreshments and field day notes will be provided. Please contact Jennie Coldham on 67363500 or Clare Edwards on 67765000 for more information.

Welcome to the news page!

To all members of the Grassland Society of NSW and those people interested in grassland management - welcome to our blog.

This is designed to be a tool for informing members for upcoming activities, field days and new items of interest. This blog will be updated frequently so please save it to your favourites list and check back often to see what is new. Comments are welcome so please feel free to contribute your suggestions, feedback and constructive criticism so we can make this blog and the main NSW Grassland Society website a useful and interesting resouce for members.

Remember the Conference coming up in July - this is an excellent opportunity to learn about cutting edge pasture management from all sectors of the industry. Stay tuned for more information about the conference.

The final piece of news is that the main website is now fully operational with member usernames and passwords allocated so you can access the restricted pages. This information will be sent out to you as soon as we can organise it - however, for those who would like to give it a try now, just contact the Secretary or the Web Team using the contact details on the main website. Currently, there is only a small amount of information published here but we plan to publish information from newsletters and conference proceedings from the last 3-5 years in order to make this a very important source of information for members. New information will be added all the time so it is worth checking in from time to time.

Cheers from the Grassland Society of NSW committee.
